September, 2011

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Welcome to the 2011- 2012 Season of A-B’s Proscenium Circus!  We have an interesting and exciting season ahead of us!

The PC season ahead will be a whirlwind of activity. We begin in late October with a classic and sassy adaptation of Robin Hood, directed by Boston director Brett Marks. This will be a family favorite with adventure, hilarity and more stage combat than A-B has ever seen! Pippin will be our musical this year. This Tony award-winning show, with music by Stephen Schwartz, is filled with terrific songs and dance created by the legendary choreographer, Bob Fosse. The drama festival play, Fuenteovejuna follows in March. This year, PC is teaming with Diego Mansilla of the A-B foreign language department to bring this Spanish classic to the our stage. The spring play is Romeo and Juliet directed by Andrea Southwick who also teaches and directs at several colleges and universities in the area. Filling out the year are the Class Plays and the Festival of 10 Minute Plays.

Local theater professionals will be leading workshops on: Auditioning for Musical Theater, Meisner Acting Technique, and Stage Combat. In addition, our Dance Free-4-All Workshop with Liza Levy will be offered again. All of these workshops are free for the students because of Friends of Drama's support.

Thank you for your continued support. Our Friends of Drama members and Season Ticket subscribers are the lifeline of our student theater. You make it possible for Proscenium Circus to flourish in these tough economic times.
